The Afri-trans is a group of young Zambian Transgender Women who founded this organization in February 2020 to address the needs of their growing community. The organization was founded on the feminist principals of inclusion and thus operates on the principle of inclusivity in decision making by all members most of all the community itself. Transgender women who are classified as Key Populations are amongst some of the most vulnerable groups of people on the world thus the importance of the existence of an organization and space like AFRI-TRANS .

LEGAL REFORMS

In a direct link to our advocacy initiatives, influence policy creation for third gender recognition as “them” & gender marker change for transgender women and men

HEALTH

Creation of platforms that ensure safety and security for the community & partially doing so by creating spaces for learning, sharing capacities that enable economic, community and organizational growth.
